Is your Smile Lacking? Consider Veneers!
As much as we would all like to have a beautiful, brilliant smile, many of us just don't. Naturally gorgeous teeth are not readily handed out by Mother Nature. And when they are, there is no guarantee that the appearance of teeth will remain consistent, undamaged. If you have gaps, chips, cracks, stains, or other issues related to the size, shape, or shade of your teeth, it may be time to consider how your Punta Gorda dentist Dr. Dehdashti can help you address your concerns.
Cosmetic dentistry has advanced significantly in the last few decades. Just 100 years ago, toothlessness was not uncommon. Just a half a century ago, cosmetic problems with teeth were either something that patients settled with, or they may have been "fixed" with dentures or with crowns. Today, one of the best cosmetic treatments is to enhance the finest aspects of the smile with porcelain veneers.
Here are some of the common concerns for which porcelain veneers may be used:
- Crooked teeth
- Turned teeth
- Permanent stains (such as tetracycline stains)
- Uneven length
- Disproportionate size
Determining if porcelain veneers are right for you requires only that you know you want to change something about your smile, and you know where to turn. Our patients receive a comprehensive consultation when they want to know more about porcelain veneers. We may view images of Before and After work, and will discuss the aspects of the smile that could be improved. Ultimately, the goal is not to take someone else's smile and put it on your face, but to create the smile that looks best on you.
Convenient, efficient cosmetic care
Porcelain veneers can completely transform a smile; and yet, the treatment process is streamlined and straightforward. After the initial consultation, the teeth that will receive veneers are reduced. The amount of reduction is minimal, and it is necessary in order to create evenness between the veneer and the gums. Impressions are taken of the reduced teeth, and will be used in the dental lab to create the final restorations. Before veneers are bonded to enamel, each is assessed to ensure all characteristics are harmonious, and that the desired appearance has been achieved. Once veneers are bonded, they require minimal care in order to remain durable and attractive for years.
